Course Reserve Books

Each term, Meadville Lombard library staff put at least one copy of every required and recommended textbook on reserve. Books are put on reserve so that students are able to access the books they need for their classes without purchasing them. These items are kept behind the circulation desk and are only available to students registered for that class. In some cases, we have multiple copies of these books and there are copies available in the general circulating collection as well in the course reserves.

MFC Reading List Materials

We have at least one copy of every published book/article on the Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC) reading list (available through the UUA website). These materials are available to every patron with circulation privileges. If an MFC reading list book is on course reserve, it is only accessible to students registered for that class and it circulates according to the course reserve policy.

Click the MFC competency below to see the MFC reading list materials that correspond with that competency.

How long can I check out a course reserve book?

Prior to Intensives, course reserve books circulate for three weeks. This period starts on the day the book is checked out and includes any shipping time (both ways). During Intensives, course reserve books circulate for one week and are subject to recall.

Can I renew a reserve book?

In general, books on course reserve cannot be renewed. This helps keep the books available to other users.

How many course reserve books can I check out at a time?

You can check out up to three course reserve books at one time. This is so that books remain accessible to as many people as possible.
